This was the week of the first snow. And while there are many things I love about the first snow, perhaps my favorite is the sudden appearance of snowmen in yards.
At this time in history there is much focus on how much kids aren't doing....mostly involving time spent outdoors. The first snow of the season holds such wonder that it draws kids away from the screen and out into the world.
Happy weekend all.
I have noticed that too – the excitement of snow and how many kids love to play outside in it. I love seeing snowmen and snow forts and castles and all the other creations lining the front yards in town. So wonderful!

Hey, our first snow woman had buttons for hair, and Lydia must have incorporated a lot of wood chips, leaves, dirt and rocks. Now she is a little melty and is very brown and in need of exfoliation down one side.
She is beautiful.

It is such a joyful reminder that kids are still kids. Subject to fits of outdoor play with the addition of snow.
And adults too.

Thank you! We are in that sweet spot where it is cold enough to snow, but really not that cold outside yet.

Ha! I can't imagine what she must look like today.
More beautiful in memory I imagine.
