Hydrangeas are where it's at. They are quite lovely of course, but are also the only blooms around after the hard frost of last weekend.
We are visited each day by a band of marauding wild turkeys with a liking of birdseed and windfall apples. I admit to a small chunk of happiness at their presence, with a rapidly mounting fear for my future garden beds.
Left and leaving are the warm and sunshiny days of Summer and early Autumn. Hard on the heels of this fact came the realization of a need for more soft and squishy places to cozy up inside. So, sew. Cushions done. Duvet covers to come.
We bought ourselves a kickass woodstove instead of a furnace to get us through this Winter. And I am steadfastly refusing to listen to any predictions of what is believed to lie in store for us during the colder months. Not listening.

Beautiful fabric on the pillow- and I love your woodstove. I'm glad you settling in and so happy in your new place. It looks breathtaking out there.
I cannot imagine looking out the window and seeing a "pack?" of wild turkeys! Even the picture made me smile.

Beautiful homestead. A woodstove is like a favorite stuffy, so cozy, so comforting, so special. Enjoy!! I think you can trust your heart and listen all the way what you think fits for you and your family. Look where you are now, amongst nature and it's beauty. Winter will be delightful, no matter what.
Have fun!

I made a funny hooting noise when I scrolled down and saw those turkeys! Wow! They make me think of marauding little old ladies in worn out black cloth coats.
Your wood stove is lovely, and all will be well this winter. I can feel it.
